BRINGING PHOTOGRAPHY BACK TO THE SCIENCE
SCIENCE + ART

Utilizing the visual power of magnified x-ray photography of crucial collections from international seedbanks, this stationery and brand highlight the technology that can record the delicacy and beauty in nature that is invisible to the human eye. It is also an opportunity for those who are in the field of science to get access to start dialogue with photographers like Dornith Doherty to continue the collaboration of science and art.

As an onomatopoeia of something being sloppy, messy, or messed with, it seemed fitting that the brand be flexible, fun, and a little messy. The research went into Edo period markets and post-WWII dagashi stores, a bright and eye-catching vintage feel that is appealing to those who feel colorful and auspicious enough for everyone.

A couple new sections have been added on top of the science and symposiums ISHS provides. The take action and donate sections create a new space for advocates who are not necesarily approaching the community from a science-background. From letter-writing parties to protests to attending a city council meeting, organizing an event is an easy way to bring your friends and neighbors together to take action and advocate for an issue relevant to your community.

CARVING OUT SPACE TO GROW
CARVING OUT SPACE TO GROW

The Science landing page needed to be modular and utilized as a forum of global discussions. Adding as much breathing room as possible with padding and large type was necessary to give importance to every division and commision, even to those towards the bottom.
